I am not very fond of President Obama, but this to me is a non-issue. The Marines in this video did their job and as others have said on here it is not required of a President to salute back. President Eisenhower never returned salutes as president.

PO2 Robert Aitchison - I served during too many presidents and President Reagan knew how to play to the picture takers, but behind the camera his orders to us in Latin America was no guns; that is how I learned to play Russian Roulette and why I took so many chances out the wire in Afghanistan.

I would give this more credence if it was not from a self-confessed "conservative" web site and it was more than a few seconds shot.
Also, another point:

Is the President supposed to salute?
This happened after President Reagan, despite being told not to by his advisors since it breached military protocol to salute in civilian attire, did it anyway as commander in chief. It is not technically a requirement written in the Constitution or military etiquette.

Stanley, you are hurting the guys feelings, by telling them the truth. President Reagan was an actor that knew how to play to the picture takers, but people do not like to admit the truth. I served during his tenure too.

Maybe Reagan felt it was the right thing to do since he was Commander in chief and wanted to show respect to his fellow military. And then ask yourself why does Obama salute sometimes and not others? Maybe it's the same as all his other things he does...halfways.

....He saluted as he entered the aircraft. If you are making an issue out of the fact that he did it as he boarded instead of before climbing the steps....you are delving so far down into the weeds to find something to complain about.
