Obama backs requiring women to register for the draft

Will it pass congress? Probably not.

Do I think it should pass congress? Yes. If you are going to open all combat jobs to women there is no reason not to have them register for the selective service just like men do. I think they should have been made to register years ago, even if they were just drafted into support roles that would be positions filled.

It's up to congress, and the senate to pass any bill put before them on this matter.
