I'm supposed to do cartwheels over a 1.3% pay raise? Are you kidding me right about now?

Me neither. I'd argue 3.6 barely covers inflation. A 1.3 raise? That's almost not even worth the administrative ass-pain to effectuate it.

SSG Marc W. - Could be, that will be tested as you post. We will be sure to get back to you, if proven wrong. There used to be an officer that used to use the screen name of IdiotHunter, that didn't last long. A gentle reminder of looking into the mirror and he changed his persona.

This was a 1.3% pay raise so an E4 with 4 years gets close $30 per month prior to taxes. So while it is a pay raise, it is not that significant. And I am pretty sure that the budget comes from Congress and goes to the President for approval. This headline makes it seem like the President did this over the objections of Congress.

Largest raise in 5 years? Wasn't he President 5 years ago? How is this noteworthy? Try this for a noteworthy headline (if it would ever happen)... President gives military the largest raise since President Reagan.
