I think the point was exactly what he said...NO FOREIGN TERRORIST ORGANIZATION has successfully PLANNED AND EXECUTED an attack on US soil. The instances that have occurred are lone wolf Daesh inspired individuals. Your list shows a lot of domestic shootings which may technically be terrorism but those were perpetrated by Americans therefore they would not be FOREIGN terrorist organizations. Hope that cleared it up for you Thomas.

I guess the use of the word "foreign" seems to be what we're disagreeing about but I don't see how your example disproves what he said. 9-11 was deliberately planned by Al Quaeda. They picked a target(s). Obtained a means to attack the targets and executed the attack with members of their organization. The difference with your example is American citizens are listening to a cleric who tells them to go out and kill their fellow citizens. I understand where you're coming from but in the intelligence/law enforcement world the cleric (terrorist organization) didn't pick the specific target or direct the intricate details of the attack. These are lone wolf attacks which are a lot more difficult for intelligence agencies to detect. I think that is probably why the president made the statement because intelligence agencies are listening and watching these organizations.
