My wife and I are just one of those in the "middle class" (shit) sandwich. Last year, medical premiums were $12,000 and out of pocket was $24,000. And yes, we paid all of that out of our income - no government help, no employee help (we were self employed).

How is Obummercare doing for ya'll who make $50,000/year or more?

SSgt Keith Barrows - Why can't you use the VA? Understand the wife, but I would have thought you would be covered. I've seen this before and wondered.

This was all for my wife. Yes, I was the main policy holder but I never once saw a doc last year.

As far as VA? 1) I have no idea how to register, nor have I tried. 2) The VA, in essence, killed my Dad through poor surgery practices back in 1974. 3) The VA wait times making headlines don't thrill me. 4) I have yet to find any "business" run by government that gets it right. 5) There are other veterans that NEED it, where for me it is more of a (piss poor) luxury. 6) I've had too many veteran friends NOT get the treatment they needed because the VA does not care about who they treat. Shall I go on?
