Wow! What a compendium of generalities and nonsense. Repudiate the debt? Does anyone know the consequences of repudiation? If you did, you wouldn't be so cavalier tossing that idea around.

SSG Diane R. - Debt isn't the real problem. Repudiating the debt would be akin to covering up skin cancer with makeup. Spending is the problem. Once spending is brought under control, the economy could once again flourish and the debt could be repaid. Yes, it would take time, but it could be repaid. It can't be repaid if Congress keeps spending money like a drunken sailor (and I beg the pardon of all the swabbies here)
