That sounds reasonable. Make the person demanding the red flag be legally liable to be sued by his actions. That should slow down false reports. Also the judge signing the order would be able to determine if it is out of revenge or actual threat. Law enforcement would have to bring up past records of the individual targeted. With computer technology of today it shouldn't take long for information to be acquired on anybody. If the thug advertises his actions the officers can be present to prevent any occurrences from happening. I'm not for red flag laws but I am for, see or hear something report it. This gives law enforcement a heads up on possible actions that can occur. To be forewarned is to be prepared.
