We still have a number of these old tiny stations around town. They are now vape shops, cigar stores, and whatnot. I can think of three for sure, I'm sure there are more.

Around here it seems like every small town has at least one. You have to be a little older and have a good eye to recognize them. Pizza shop, real estate agent, insurance broker, or sometimes just plain abandoned.

You can go in and out of a station now for a fill up and never even have a human interaction

Not as bad as JD Rockefeller hated the split of Standard Oil of NJ in 1911. He was probably a billionaire, which in those days meant loaded for sure.
