Great list! Here are a few of mine.
You often get what you want, because there is always someone somewhere who can make a decision. The trick is finding that someone, and then convincing them that making a decision in your favor is in their best interest. (That's how I got into the Marine Corps at the age of 35 and a half).
What you believe is only as good as why you believe it. Know the reasons for believing the things you believe. Know the difference between the things you know and the things you assume. Learn how to question your own assumptions.
Just because people disagree with you does not mean they are your enemy. (They may in fact be your enemy, but disagreement by itself isn't the reason.) Don't hold grudges. If you have had a conflict with someone in the past and you're still mad at them, simply being civil and pretending to be friendly over time can often lead to reconciliation and actual friendship.
