The Supreme Court has "already" lost its way. The fact that we have "liberal judges and conservative judges" is an affront to "Lady Justice" whom wears a blindfold and holds a scale that it perfectly balanced. Cases should be judge on the merits of the laws that apply and not social justice and what about this "appointment for life" scrap.. I think 10 years is plenty.

I agree with the problem however I disagree with the solution we need to take political affiliation out of justice appointments and they should be bound by the law. How to make someone do what is right is not an easy thing we need appointments of ethical judges by ethical leaders which is something that we most likely will never get.

SSG Matthew Adkins - The issue there is the aging judges to the point that they are so far removed from society that they really can't comprehend all the stuff these days.
Maybe a 30 year appointment (one term) would be most ideal.

I disagree.. a nation without laws is a "lawless nation". All cases should be decided on its merits as it pertains to present day laws, precedent decisions not withstanding.
It is a transitivity that a large percentage of the outcomes of the cases that arrive in front of our Supreme Justices will be preordained solely on the political leading of the SCJs even though "Lady Justice" shows us that those in authority when deciding the outcome of a case should always, at that time, be A-political.
I know that is too much to hope for, however, that is the way the Lady that wields the sword intended it to be. Finally, even the black robes they darn, is a symbol of "neutrality".

SSG (Join to see) - Unfortunately those in our court system that have to decide cases, proudly announce their political affiliations while not knowing how absurd and unnerving that really is.
