More context. Yeah this article doesn't discuss at all what they are trying to do. After reading more into it, i don't agree with it entirely but I see what they are trying to do with finding solutions. What matters is what the parents think? Hopefully media is interviewing them.

Suburban Chicago high school district to implement race-based grading by 2023
According to reports from a suburban Chicago newspaper and the slides of the school’s presentation to teachers, the Oak Park and River Forest High School will require teachers to adopt a new grading system based on race. The high school is the only high school in the twin city school district outs

PFC Andrew "Tommy" M. Telling a Black man what racism is as if he never experienced it before firsthand is indeed ignorance. Implying this policy is somehow racist to White students is even more arrogant. But thanks for your opinion.

PFC Andrew "Tommy" M. Note you're missing a key aspect of racism or discrimination where the actions are intentionally putting one at a disadvantage. Such as providing resources to or taking away resources from one student over another solely based on race, ethnicity or religion to ensure advantage. If you read the article i shared it highlighted students regardless of race didn't fail during the pandemic and the equity policy is about removing implicit racial bias from grading. But as i said, if the parents (Black, White, Hispanic) have a problem with this I'm sure they'll make it known at school board meetings and local news media.

MAJ James Woods - You act as though there are no black racist, just because one is more predominate really does not matter, racism is racism.

Back in the early 1970s a grading system was used in Maryland - at the college level - that raised several ethnic groups' grade scores by multiplying the scores with a "socio-enonomic" factor. This practice may not have been used in all instances but it was certainly used in some.

Yes. About that time the perversion of President Kennedy's Affirmative Action plan accelerated. Since then it has just become a headlong rush back into the Democrat's Jim Crow laws designed to tribalize We the People.
