Didn't watch the Oscars but did watch Kimmel's monologue on YouTube out of curiosity; just so I'll have full context at all the liberal and conservative media criticism today.
Did watch Black Panther this weekend and it was awesome. Can see why those White Nationalist social media trolls were going out of their way with the race baiting stuff to discredit the movie and fans. Movie was well done and sets up transition to the next Avengers movie nicely.

A1C Doug Towsley - Thanks for your opinion but do note I never said nor implied commercial success at the box office translates or fails to translates into awards. Nor was I ever comparing critics and awards with box office and movie rental income so I don't know how you can accuse me of being confused on a topic that was never my topic.
My bottom line was the level of negative trolling on social media by race baiting trolls with the intent to attack the movie and movie-goers with false rhetoric. The same kind of false rhetoric used to attack Star Wars: Force Awakens for having a Black Stormtrooper and a female lead; and used to attack Dunkirk for it's lack of non-Caucasian Europeans in the movie. Examples of Trolls intentionally being divisive in hopes of re-inforcing the divide in our society; in my opinion, their goals had nothing to do with targeting the financial success, marketing, and award nomination process of any of the movies.
The idea that you are comparing anyone that supports views in this article to White supremacists that supports Fox News' agenda is ignorant. One has little to do with the other.
Now if you wish to actually address my original comment, go for it. If you wish to change topic, start your own thread but spare me the "out of nowhere" accusations.

I don't watch the Oscars, in fact I don't think I have seen one since I was 9 and that was the only thing on the 3 channels we got. This article brings up some good points the films the public loves and watches are not given the accolades they deserve. Those are saved for the political leftist ideals wrapped up in a bow and shoved down our throats.
From the news "highlights" it was just a long litany of progressive dogma and anti conservative rhetoric. I watched Star Trek instead and got more from it. lol
