Looks like a Ruger to me, or maybe Ruger copied it. Carried a S&W 38 model-15 38 special for years as a police officer. Issued ammo was old hand me down from the Navy, but it worked, unless you bought your own ammo to use.
The worst part was the issued swivel holster that was bulky, but it didn't bother me when sitting in the patrol car. Then one day I could buy a Bianchi front brake holster, that saved me one day when in a fight with 6 biker guys, one of them from the back tried to take my service revolver. When I felt my revolver being tried to be pulled from the holster, I swung around with my PR-24 and broke his shoulder. Then I was hit in the back of the head with a motorcycle helmet, and I swung around and broke his forehead skin open with the PR-24. Then back up came and broke up all the fun. Lol

SGT Gregory Lawritson No one got shot, the bikers left the carnival and said they'll be back with their guns, so I told them, Good I need the target practice, they never came back.

Surprised to find a revolver in police use anywhere in Europe. I had the impression that revolvers were considered obsolete for police (and military) use soon after the semi-auto pistol was invented. It seemed that America kept them in police use for the dependability of the revolver, while the rest of the world went for more firepower.
