Ah, situational ethics. That's almost as good as politics for inciting an on line argument. Having once been married to an unfaithful woman, I am inclined to side with the major. Well, up to the point where he began harassing her for breaking it off.

Easy, have his lawyer get on the horn with POTUS for that pardon. Now is the time and he should strike while iron is hot.

I agree. We’re going to see more of this: “ Oh look. Another military leader who committed a crime and feels the chain of command overreacted. Thus he should be exonerated and have his benefits reinstated.”
If killing a detainee that was supposed to be released can be forgiven. If the stabbing of an unconscious detainee can be forgiven cause the stab wasn’t the deadly blow. If unlawfully violating RoE that killed non-combatants can be forgiven. Well hell why not an adulterer try his hand in asking for forgiveness. Hahaha!
