I feel empathy for his family and believe that politics did play into his conviction, but he knew what he was doing. Revisit the sentence, sure, but full pardon? I wouldn't.

Well, without going into the whole thing here's how I see it.. He knew better..period. He was careless...or was he?..do we know he "lost" his cellphone?..(just taking a prosecutors angle)
Putting someone in prison for an inadvertent mistake...or even a carelessly stupid one regarding security is somewhat harsh.. Long and short he knew better. Nice guy, hard world. He will move on with his life. Amen
