GREAT move on the parents side. Don't know what I would have done. Probably called the cops and the school while on the way!

If you have kids remember to store your guns correctly. Locked up or hidden from kids. I teach my kids gun safety so they are familiar with them but I also do not leave them in places where the kids can easily find them.

Hiding them does no good.
In this case the weapons should have been locked up. However, with this being a 15 year old, locking them up may not have been a solution.
I believe that education and awareness are the two primary ways of solving issues like this.

SSG Robert Webster - you can get special furniture tht can hold a firearm and you can't tell my looking at it. My husband and both keep the gun safe combo to ourselves. We do educate our kids and train them to treat guns with respect I still don't trust my kids with them by themselves. Kids are too impulsive.

MSgt (Join to see) - While all of that is true, special furniture does not hide it from your children, it hides them from other children and visitors to the home. Another item, some adults are too impulsive, as well as some children are mature beyond their years of age.
