Capt Daniel Goodman problem with this is that while Ionic propulsion will work fairly well in the vacuum of space, it is less effective when it has to overcome gravity.

I gather it was an ionic wind vehicle, though I was never entirely sure, it always just struck me as strange having been invented by someone of such obv repute, you know?
