Capt Daniel Goodman this is a great post, what I like about is:
The Paul Hall Center offers everything from entry training to license preparation to academic support and more. Students at the southern Maryland school also may receive college credit recommendations for successfully completing certain sanctioned courses.

I know it's very little known we tried to get my stepson to go, no go, he wanted a concrete Union so I'd also tried hardhatsmto helmets like Navy Seabees, still no go, it used to be called the Harry lundeberg school of seamanship. Their website has videos of ex Navy there on video also on YouTube. My dad had wanted me to go I didn't thoughmi nearly applied!to SUNYmaritime college instead. They take grads back for further training up to bosun and have follow on training for those who want to go for 3rd enineer or mate then higher though that's then separate. It's run in a quasi boot camp fashion a ww2 legacy I think. And they do have an agreement with I think a local MD community college I believe as well.

it is a union owned and operated school, owned by seafarers international union (SIU), you have to join the union to attend. been a member for 26yrs and it was a good union. lately they have opened membership to non citizens and the contracts with shipping company's are going down big time. would not recomend any youngsters to join, my retirement after 27yrs will be less than $1000.00 a month and no healthcare.

I know my dad wanted me to go there atmonempojntnwjenit was called the Harry lundeberg school yrs ago. It's a very little known program with galley, deck, and engine tracks, run alongmquasi military lines, a ww2 legacy, from apprentice and or ordinary seaman uscg licensed up through bosun and onto deck and engine uscg licensing affiliation programs they also know about. They used to we gather allow site visits though we think those stopped we had wanted my stepson to go he didn't want it however. They used to have an age limit however I think I'd read that's been removed from the apprenticeship now, nomage restrictions on applying, I'd read, I believe, I think. Glad you found it worthwhile, please let us know any more thoughts many thanks .
