The perspective of the military fighting on behalf of the country is changing to the military is just a dangerous job.

No one but the Pentagon, the White House, and Congress really have any business knowing in my opinion. If you put that information out there for every Tom, Dick, and Harry to see, then every Ivan, Mohammad, and Zhang can see it too which puts us at a disadvantage.

I don't think secrecy is a legitimate reason. George W. Bush and all other U.S. Presidents disclosed those stats. This is an excuse to sidestep public scrutiny.

Irrespective of the mission, servicemembers lives should only be put at risk when there is broad support. War is a shared responsibility. The public should be making sacrifices too. And, if they're unable or unwilling to do so because they don't think it's important, then why are servicemembers there?
