They guy in the photo, Mark Hughes had nothing to do with the shootings. Originally he was a "person of interest" and his photo was put out on social media and went viral. When he found out he turned himself into the police, who questioned him then let him go. Now he's getting death threats.

The fellow carrying the rifle has nothing to due with the issue until they can connect him with shooting, If open carry of a rifle is legal in Dallas then he is like any other 2A activist. The news likes to stoke the fires. Unless they have witnesses or video of this guy shooting at cops its a non issue. Scare tactics plain and simple. As far as bringing weapons to a PEACEFUL Protest I suggest looking up pro gun protests, The mind set of complaining about ones 2A rights is more troubling.

Funny, how I respect to carry guns and the right to bear arms. But, this is like bringing guns flying a banner of truce ! Not to mention the media sensationalizing of " so called " Assault Rifle ! 1SG Dennis Hicks and MAJ Carl Ballinger Assault is an action ! The mere presence of the rifle puts Police on alert. while they are protecting the BLM's 1st and 2nd Amendment rights.
The crowd yelling EFF ! the police ! Doesn't help ! Makes it more hostile !

SGT John " Mac " McConnell - Again carrying while using your 2A rights has nothing to do with ASSAULT, Nobody has the right to feel safe from seeing someone exercising their rights. The police being on alert has nothing to do with anyone's rights, then again the news was wrong about the fellow mentioned in the article and even more wrong with the two other fellows that were killed by police. You or anyone else that is legally allowed to practice their 2A rights should have to worry about anyone else having Hoplophobic attack.

I totally agree 1SG Dennis Hicks The right to carry and bear arms. I would not carry a gun to a so called " peaceful Rally ". He has every right to carry by the 2nd Amendment. My thoughts are, what kind of message does this send During a Peaceful Rally ? The media are calling these "Peaceful Rally's ". Do they look peaceful to you ?

Your right to self defense doesn't end because you were at a rally, While I agree carrying should be well thought out, I also say that the ability to defend yourself is more important than scaring some hoplophobe.
