SGT David A. 'Cowboy' Groth Definitely a little bit of history that I missed in school prior to WWII - thanks for the feedback David!

Thanks COL Mikel J. Burroughs for mentioning Petaluma Young Men Went to War By Jack Withington and Deborah Gregson who works with Assoc. Caregiver Support Groups in Greensboro & High Point, NC
Since ancient times, young men have gone off to war with some returning and others being killed, usually. There are notable exceptions where everybody who went into and engagement was killed - 300 Spartans at Thermopylae [September 10, 490 BC], 7th Cavalry Regiment at the Battle of the Big Horn [Jun 25, 1876 – Jun 26, 1876] and many engagements in WWII, Korean war and Vietnam war.
