During "Contact" there is boom interphone which allows the Boom Operator and Tanker pilots to communicate directly through the boom with the receiver pilots. No radio emissions required. This video's conversation is on the radio, so I expect it's a training sortie.

My wife was hocking me to try Chick-Fik-A of late, I'd gathered shed heard they're fundamentalist Christian or something, she's devout Pentecostal, I kin's get drawn into the whole church vortex thing, happy wife happy life, you know?

The only reason to try Chic-Fil-A is to get a great chicken sandwich. I love 'em. Been to Chic-Fil-A hundreds of times...the service is excellent, and they have never, not once, preached a single word of Christianity other than their famous "my pleasure" response to your "thank you."

Why is not using the radio beneficial, Colonel? I assume anyone advanced enough to pick up transmissions would also have radar to see the planes?
