What has been your approach to improving your Push Up score? What have you tried that has seemed a waste of time? This is what worked for me, but there are other approaches that seem like they would work equally well.
In my strength training quest, and my quest to max my pushups, years ago I found Strongfirst.com and have earned bodyweight strength training coaching certification. This is an even better program than what I originally used to get my pushups to 90 on the APFT.

When I was in I’d do 10 push-ups every 5 minutes for 3hrs then have a 2hr break. After that I’d increase by 5 every hour and that worked for me. Keep advised that was on non duty or staff duty days. On duty days I’d knock out 15 when I could take a break, it also helped me quit smoking.
