Portland Leftist Gets Beat Up by His Own Side Because He Held ‘Fascist’ American Flag

A leftist in Portland, Oregon, got beaten up by his own left-wing buddies because he made the mistake of thinking that he could hold an American flag among the fascist thugs pretending to “protest against fascism.”

Paul Welch, a Portland resident who calls himself a left-wing progressive, appears to be wholly ignorant of what liberalism stands for. He thought that liberals loved America and that it was the conservative protesters he hates that are the un-American types. But when he proudly brought an American flag to the left-wing protest, he learned that it is really the liberals who hate America and won’t tolerate an American flag being waved amongst them.

Portland’s leading newspaper, The Oregonian highlighted Welch’s tale of woe with a video that shows him being attacked by his own kind.

These are the same creeps who chant “No borders, no wall, no U.S.A. at all.” But apparently Welch didn’t understand just what his own side actually supports.

According to The Oregonian:

Paul Welch came to the downtown protest Aug. 4 to let his political leanings be known.
With pride he clutched his U.S. flag as he moved among the crowd of like-thinking demonstrators.
Soon a group of black-clad anti-fascist protesters, also known as antifa, demanded he lose the flag, calling it a fascist symbol. Welch refused, and a tug-of-war ensued.
It ended with Welch taking a club to the back of the head, lying on the ground in a pool of his own blood.
Only Welch was not a Proud Boy, a Patriot Prayer supporter or among the other conservative activists who descended into the area that day, many from out of town.
He was one of hundreds of progressive Portlanders who had turned out to oppose the right-wing rally held at the Tom McCall Waterfront Park.
