SSG Beltran,
Great transparency in sharing what you've gone through and how you've developed. My experiences of being sexually abused and hungry as a child and the resultant behaviors were carried into adulthood. When I was a state trooper, I was involved in a shooting and my partner was killed. My reactions to the incident over the next few months were influenced by how I was raised. Fast-forward approximately 10 years, and I finally told someone what happened to me when I was a kid. The growth that was to come afterwards was miraculous. When I went through the MRT course was the first time I had heard of Post Traumatic Growth, and I've tried to learn as much about as I can. I believe that I'm now a thriver and not a merely a survivor. If you or others aren't aware of it, you might want to check this out: http://ptgi.us.com/
Thanks for a great post.

SFC Cochran,
TFS the link. I totally agree with you regarding PTG. I had to go back to my Faith Root's regarding my Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and I can say that without him in my life, it would have been very difficult to carry or let go of these past burdens from my life. I am glad that you were able to seek help and take the MRT course and apply it to your life, That course only enhanced my ability with God's help to deal with all the various Trauma's that have happened in my life to include the day when myself and my crew were hit by that IED. It always give me more encouragement to see that other's like yourself have been able to thrive and move forward instead of being stuck. I only hope that many more will see more than what they are dealing with presently and move forward in their lives.
