Did you happen to see the news from Utah? All 25,000 Utah state employees were treated to a reply to all storm about a holiday pot luck party that made the news. Holiday potluck email turns into reply-all thread of mayhem after it was sent to 25,000 Utah workers | Daily Mail Online
So glad AWG only has about 350 people. We do get the occasional "AWG ALL" messages. The latest was about a Ranger school graduation on Friday for one of our members. Inevitably, there always seems to be four or five that must hit "Reply all." It's almost like a disease. Could it be narcissism? A need to feel important? A need to be heard?
The worst I saw was at the US Army Intelligence Center of Excellence - I think we were up to about 300 replies - most were begging people to stop hitting "reply all." Silly, right?
Unfortunately, I don't think the reply all storms will stop until there are personal consequences for hitting the reply all button or the reply all button is disabled by IT policy forcing the responder to manually add people to the CC line. I could live with that.
