An old friend, a Lutheran minister in Hawaii, once delivered a sermon using the theme Ho'oponopono (to make right right). He explained the similarity between the Hawaiian and Jewish traditions in which it was proscribed that those who asked for forgiveness (exoneration) must be given forgiveness >for the good of the community<.
