Excellent. In my experience, many Vets departed active duty with little thought except returning to civilian life. In some cases, years later they realized there were gaps in the records, and what they had earned during their service; in others it was the children and grandchildren who wanted the information and the awards. While on active duty I served as a survivor/causality assistance officer; in each case, the families, among other things, the families always wanted the military records and awards, as a physical reminder of the departed loved one. Thank you for sharing.

PO1 Tony Holland: THANK YOU FOR YOUR RELEVENT POST! I have written for military records and for what I believed to be missing awards. Thanks again, Petty Officer First Class Holland! -Most Sincerely, Margaret C. Higgins U.S. Army Retired: Coach/Photographer
