I did not see it in the article and wonder, do they feel the police response had something to do with the sexual orientation of the clientele? I work prehospital as a paramedic and I can tell you that I have no idea what gay clubs are in town. Maybe the police do and even if they do, it is unacceptable in our community to treat LGBT any different than anyone else. Anyone that does needs to find a new occupation.

I was pretty pissed off when I heard that it took them 3 hours to breach. Some died of slow non arterial wounds.
That being said, the OPD is usually pretty supportive of the LGBTQ community in Orlando. Purposely not training I think is a little crazy to say, but I don’t think this entire idea is at all bullshit.

It's singularly an attempt to lay a preponderance of blame for financial purposes. The word not used by the plaintiffs is nonfeasance, a failure to perform a lawful duty. Fortunately, police are not required by law to commit suicide. What they did do was follow universally standard procedures before, during, and after this event. The scene "might" have been entered earlier if it was a residence with a couple occupants. This was a packed nightclub with a few hundred people inside. There were many considerations to make before entering the scene, not the least of which was the safety of persons still alive and unharmed inside and the safety of emergency personnel which, the public often thinks, is supposed to be of no importance. Those days are long over and gone.
