Thanks for the link. The topic is certainly relevant at the moment. One thing I wondered while browsing the article, is why the interviewer and respondent both seem to be oblivious to the very intentional instigation of tensions between Russia and the West by Putin himself EDIT: Nevermind, I see he still works in St. Petersburg, Russia - probably wants to avoid a polonium lunch date. From the Georgia squabble in 2008, to the shenanigans in Ukraine, to the flexing in the Baltic region, to murdering of Russian expats in the UK, Putin is constantly and intentionally an irritation. So, it's not like the relations with the West are bad for Russia in the same way the weather turns bad - its something they've been working pretty hard on making bad.
