Saw this and realized we lost another good one. Gunny was the Marines' Marine. He played his roles with unmatched depth and authenticity. His FMJ DI will be a classic and a must see for the ages. As a conservative in liberal Hollywood, R.Lee paid a price for his views and the target of Liberal McCarthyism by having roles going to lesser actors. Still, he was true to himself and to those who admired him. He will be missed.

On May 17, 2002, he received an honorary promotion to gunnery sergeant (E-7) by the Commandant of the Marine Corps, General James L. Jones. RIP Gunny and thanks for all you've done for Veterans.

"Teufelshunde" that kicked a way into liberal folly wood and then into Marine Corps lore. Condolences to the family of R. Lee Ermey. Another Marine reporting for duty sir. Mrs. Bush will have a honor guard provided by the best upon the streets of gold. Gunnery Sergeant Carlos Norman Hathcock II, Private to Lt. General Lewis B. I just watched a segment of "Mail Call." Talking about the M-14 Gunny says, "This weapon is gas operated. If you've been watching the show you know what that means. If you haven't its just too bad!"
