CPO Ronnie Townes, here's some family history about Coast Guard Signalman First Class Douglas Albert Munro:
After he died, his mother joined the Coast Guard and served throughout the remainder of WWII. He left no offspring, but had a sister named Patricia. She married and had a son named Douglas Sheehan, who joined the Coast Guard and attained the rank of Commander. When the Douglas A. Munro Coast Guard Headquarters Building was dedicated in 2013, the family members in attendance were the descendants of Douglas Sheehan as Douglas Munro left no direct descendants. They included his son Chris, his grandson Ty and his three great grandchildren; Eliza, Jacob and Etta. Also in attendance was Jessica Sheehan, the children’s mother. Jessica Sheehan’s maiden name is Jessica Ashley Pryor -- she is my daughter. I am the grandfather of Eliza, Jacob and Etta Sheehan.
Also, Douglas Monro attended Central Washington College of Education in nearby Ellensburg, WA -- now called Central Washington University (CWU). My oldest daughter, Tracy, graduated from CWU in 1994, and my daughter Jessica graduated from CWU in 2002.
