a lot of the Rust belt jobs were lost because of the excessive use and continued efforts ot the unions... They had their places in the late 19th and early 20th to mid 20th century... but now they no longer are working for the employees but more as a Political instrument organizing arm of the leftist political parties... the Union leaders are now no better than the robber barons of the 19th and 20th centuries...

I mean yeah they can't just wait for jobs to come back. They have to look at what is available and "adapt and overcome" to move forward.
