Excellent interview; however, I differ slightly.

After a known comrade in arms was fraudulently diagnosed with PTSD and his service came to an abrupt end, he was totally broken and his belief in religion or spiritual life was suddenly gone. This after almost 19 years of honorable service to our nation. The reason this happened was because the IG was asleep on the job and prevention or protection took the back seat. He found this out in 2013, 2014 and 2016; whereas, the incident occurred in 2002. This comrade was informed that he can't appeal, because of a six-year rule. Again, he was totally devastated and he drowned himself in depression.

After I met the lad in 2005, I managed to reignite the flame of religious beliefs and spirituality in him. He grew happier with each passing day, month and year. He began making a yearly pilgrimage to religious places, where he earned a new spirit through religion; a reason to live and to advance. Then;

The news that his PTSD was actually falsely diagnosed at the behest of his superiors that threatened him, physically abused him behind four walls, falsified official statements against him, set him up for failure, recommended and ordered him to EMHE before tossing him in the trash like a dirty used sanitary pad. He asked me, "How can superiors do this without facing consequences?" I had no reply, except words to try and encourage him.

I still feel hopeless and helpless around my comrade; what should I do?

I'm not a counselor, and when i was it was battered women...

What he needs is compassion. In a perfect world that transcends religion.

Just be supportive without being partisan.

It's called Unconditional Positive Regard.

Unconditional Positive Regard and Compassion; why is it that our leaders don't display such actions or are taught to be tough and dirty; why aren't our leaders held to the fire on proving mental or psychological illness; why drown a soldier into depression with fraud?
Now, I am beginning to feel that the Army Code of Conduct, which is still my guiding principle, is a farce.

Perhaps I need to calm down with some meditation till Nirvana.

Let's pray he doesn't drown himself in another drinking frenzy to hide his sorrow.
