LT Brad McInnis - I've served as a Casualty Assistance Officer a few times. We don't dictate or determine what the widow or NoK want or should have. We answer all their questions to the best of our abilities to assist them obtaining the closure and support they need. So before any of us can say anything, all we know is she was denied seeing the body and it's unclear the reasons they gave her. This isn't the first time remains mutilated, disfigured, unrecognizable conditions have been buried. What the family doesn't need to find out weeks after burial that more parts of their loved one are still being found in another country. That's bad form.
