Do we really think the people who have been fighting to repeal it since it was passed really care? It's a symbol whether or not it's good for the people. Is it perfect, no but is it better than what healthcare the average person had before, certainly. But opponents want it repealed simply because it was something Obama pushed through with no regards to the impact.

MSG Donald Johnson - Lets agree to disagree on source of rising costs. Fact is that ACA was more about providing healthcare for those who had no healthcare insurance than it was about reducing costs. If there had been full buy in to ACA costs may have at least stabilized but that never happened because too many states fought to avoid or eliminate it primarily for political, not good of the people, reasons. That fact alone doomed ACA, insurance company culture of greed did the rest.

Lt Col John (Jack) Christensen - That may be ... but arguably not to the same level. It appears that what you are arguing is that the ACA kept or expanded the bad parts of our health care system ... while getting rid of the good parts. Since COST of healthcare was one of the principle targets of the ACA, by any reasonable measure the ACA is a "FAIL".

No one seems to mention that CONGRESS, yes the guys that hate ACA, have done NOTHING to reign in the profits for the Insurance Companies or the Drug Companies. They want to blame ACA but is that fair? The cost of insurance and the copays have been going up for decades. The Insurance companies got on the bandwagon of the CONGRESS to blame the ACA. Check their profit margins. I am sure they skyrocketed in most sectors.

PO1 Richard Cormier - My point exactly. Cost of insurance and co-pays would have continued to rise with or without ACA.

I would agree, if there is nothing to take up the slack until a full replacement plan is put in place. This article informs us as to some of the plans, but not the roll out plan for this replacement. As always, the Republicans are expected to move at the speed of light, while it took six years to implement this disaster. BTW, by, by to the single payer plan that was the intent from the beginning.

MSG Stan Hutchison - I know, just my humor. Normally I blame my iphone. To the point, it will not take six years to modify or totally replace Obamacare, but the totality of the changes/replacement will be done over a year or two, IMO.

MCPO Roger Collins - One year is a good thought,,, but, hell, it takes Congress at least two years to decide on the current color of the carpet in the men's rooms.

Just joking of course. I have always advocated correcting the problems in a timely manner. They cannot simply repeal the ACA and leave millions of citizens afloat.

MSG Stan Hutchison - Actually, Obamacare did exactly that. Which was the reason for many enrolees, they lost their coverage.

MCPO Roger Collins - I won't play the numbers game with you, but I believe there are far, far more citizens with health insurance now than there was before the ACA.

Let's give it a try and see what happens. We tried it Obama and the dem's way, don't read the bill, pass it to find out hat's in it. Healthcare exchanges with government subsidies. Now we have insurance companies walking away from it. I'd say if we don't repeal it (at least) it will collapse under it's own weight and then people will really be in trouble.
