SSgt Amanda Boyd: I am certainly not young....lol.; I am sixty-six years old; but I feel that I am more successful than my civilian peers. Maybe, I am wrong, though.

I would like to see the references for the data. Why pick 2005 as a start point? The economic crisis in 2008 and 2009 started the mass job loss. The job "growth" since has been in low paying jobs. I call B.S. However, I do believe the skill learned in working in a diverse workforce give you a great advantage.

That's a good point 1SG Nick Baker - a lot has changed since 2005.. and even more change is on the way!

In fact, I just wrote this post on Quora post - https://www.quora.com/Is-it-normal-for-it-to-be-hard-to-find-a-first-job/answer/John-Chang-7

I didn't have any problem when I retired because the training I received on Active Duty allowed me to do the same thing as a Civilian working for the Navy, Air Force. I might mention I was a telecommunications system operations supervisor.
