Well, it's hard to find a decent paying job (and by decent paying, I mean LIVING wages) that is conducive to the inconsistency in reserves schedule, so find some jobs for reservists that are more forgiving in terms of time management, and that actually benefits soldiers, esp. those with families to support. I think a lot of reservists get down and depressed because they simply don't know how they are going to make ends meet.

SGT Kirsten Faint,
There is a P3O Private Public Partnership Office which can connect you with employers that understand the Reserve commitment and have signed an agreement to hire Reserve/National/Guard Service Member KNOWING that you have Battle Assembly, Annual Deployment, and that you might be mobilized and deployed away for a year. The best part is they still want you even knowing all this. In Decatur, GA Mr. Christopher Brown is the Representative for Georgia [login to see] . He can connect you to the Rep for your state. They have a website, too.

CSM (Join to see) Thank you for bringing attention to this matter. We're working to help service members and veterans to make connection and receive support though the creation of a group platform. Our Mission is to roll out a proven solution for many of the challenges Active Duty Service Members, Disabled Veterans, and their families experience. We’ll be providing full collaborative communities, utilizing virtual reality tools to help stop the 22 Veteran PTSD suicides per day. All the communications occur in a 3D interactive, immersive virtual environment. We've successfully used these tools in the past to save lives and will continue to save more veterans and active duty members.

We must encourage communication within our ranks and remove the stigma of asking for help. We conducted ASIST training with my company and identified isolation as a risk factor. As Reservists we're isolated on many fronts, geographically, professionally and personally isolated. Many of us do not live near one another, we only see each other during Battle Assembly and civilian counterparts don't truly understand the sacrifices we make. Family is a source of support but only to a certain extent. We must reach out to our Soldiers and communicate with them.

Ma'am well said. I truly believe ASIST is the best way to create life guards for the River of Life.
