The problem with charging for extra security is it effectively gives veto power to the mob. People on the left refuse to distinguish between Trump supporters/Ann Coulter/Ben Shapiro and actual white supremacists, so they all get the same Antifa treatment.
Keep in mind that places wouldn't have to supply so much extra security now if police forces and other security personnel had done their damned jobs previously in places like Berkeley and Portland.

SSgt Christopher Brose So, is that an education thing, a societal thing, or both? I agree that freedom of speech doesn't mean "I don't like your message, so you can't say it" so mob rule should never happen. It does, I would be a fool to think that because I don't like it so it doesn't happen.

PO3 Steven Sherrill - Both. Society is what it is now because education brought us here.

SSgt Christopher Brose - I agree. When schools started teaching kids to pass a standardized test rather than teaching kids to be free thinkers and form opinions. That I absolutely agree on. The other side of it has been the collapse of personal responsibility. Somewhere in the last fifty years society has gone from personal responsibility to blame someone else. That has been bolstered by taking discipline away from parents as a teaching tool, and then blaming parents when their kid turns out to be a little bastard. Parents turn around and blame society, and the finger pointing is propagated.
