And firearms manufacturers are leaving New England often leaving just corporate headquarters and moving to the southwest and southeast where the jobs are appreciated.

With the political climate towards firearms in the Northeast, this is anything but a surprise. I don't know why some keep their corporate HQ's there.

The manufacture of firearms in the NE happened because at the time the industrial base was there. The South was basically an agrarian society and out West was still being explored. In today's society building an industrial complex can happen anywhere in the country. These companies are realizing this and making the moves. In the South many communities are offering tremendous tax breaks to companies want to relocate. Why wouldn't a company move?
