One of my favorite biographies of the Romanovs is The Last Tsar: The Life and Death of Nicholas II
by Edvard Radzinsky. It is a very good book.

TSgt Joe C.: This is most interesting news: that forensic scientists have positively identified the remains of Russia's last czar, Nicholas II, his wife, Czarina (What an interesting name.) Alexandra; and three of their daughters. I wonder how old the daughters were; when they died?
And, to think that this was an execution!??!
-Warm Regards, Joe, Margaret

Thanks for reminding us TSgt Joe C. that on July 9, 1993 that British forensic scientists announce that they have positively identified the remains of Russia’s last czar, Nicholas II; his wife, Czarina Alexandra; and three of their daughters. The scientists used mitochondria DNA fingerprinting to identify the bones, which had been excavated from a mass grave near Yekaterinburg in 1991.
Pox on the Bolsheviks and all their supporters. Small pox or large which is Bubonic plague :-)
