Looks like Mueller is trying to pump his stats on indictments. Indicting Russian officers is mental masturbation. It might make him feel good but it does nothing. These people will never be arrested, tried or convicted. I wouldn't be surprised to see The Russians set up a similar counsel and start indicting US military officers and citizens (agents) involved in any sort of spying/hacking etc. We certainly do these sorts of activities. It is part of the game. Indicting Russian military officers is a monumental waste of time.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Why would anyone need to pardon them? They are not even US Citizens subject to US law. This is Mueller trying to pump his indictment stats and you know it.
We have US military, intelligence and counter intelligence resources that partake in cyber warfare against our enemies. Sometimes in response to attacks other times proactively. Our enemies, of which Russia is one, do this all of the time. Issuing criminal indictments in US courts for foreign military or intelligence officers is nonsensical and our enemies could set up a similar process and indict US military and intelligence assets. To what end? We've been doing this dance since the iron curtain came down. Wise up Steve.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - So, when they start indicting and charging US military personnel and/or intelligence folks for cyber crimes or election tampering through the internet you will be good with that? Will you want to extradite the US citizens to stand trial in Russia? I hope not. Many nation states meddle in other's elections, including us. Please don't act like this is a new phenomenon
BTW, all of this meddling happened leading up to the 2016 prudential election. Who was the president then, that's right, President Obama. You might also recall the recent testimony from the Obama White House's chief of cyber security, Michael Daniel that he received "stand down" orders from Susan Rice, the then National Security Advisor on putting into place more cyber security options. The testimony is widely available on youtube if you missed it.
You might want to start asking yourself questions why the Obama administration was not far more aggressive with the Russians if they believed meddling was going on. There are likely some answers to this you are not going to like.

I am waiting for the countries that we have meddled in their elections start complaining about the big bad US meddling! If it isn't good to be done to us, then we shouldn't do it to others. Also, is anyone surprised at the resurgence of the word meddling in all this? I think before this I could count on 2 hands the number of times I heard/used the word... Sgt Wayne Wood

As i recall, didn’t Obummer dispatch some DNC operatives (James Carville?) to work against Netanyahu in an Israeli election?

The past administration tried to sway the Israeli election because Netanyahu would not play ball with them. So yes this country could have people indicted by other countries for the same practices. This whole Mueller this is just a farce and these indictments are just a rouse to keep things alive while he waste millions of dollars on nothing.

This is just a smoke screen by Mueller. These Russians will never see the inside of a courtroom & he knows this. We have no extradition treaty with Russia, which is why Snowden is hanging out there to escape prosecution.
A couple of Russian firms that were indicted actually did show up to court (or their lawyers did) had their charges dismissed because Mueller didn't want to let his information/sources out on the process.

I agree that the indictments are probably going nowhere, there's no means to extradite the accused, and I think the only effect it would have would be curtailing their ability to travel abroad. There isn't a way to quantifiable say to what impact Russia had on the election, but there is a near unanimous consensus that they did work to undermine our election system and its credibility. As far as legal action, Rosenstein and Mueller are infinitely more versed than me, and I would defer to their judgement whether or not an indictment can be sustained if this ever proceeds to trial.

CPO (Join to see) - I have no doubt that Russia attempted to influence the election, they've probably done it many times. But this was due mostly to sow discord against the US itself, versus one specific candidate.

MSgt Steve Sweeney - Who really cares if the case stays open, hell there are millions of people in this country with warrants out on them, occasionally one gets caught, but most are walking around free.

Just like Obama is tied to allot of dirty little things as well, you can't have it both ways, I personally doubt Trump had much to do with the Russians trying to hack things, I personally doubt what the Russians did had little to any affect on the election out come. Just something for the left to cry about instead of looking to the future.
