I met him at a SF reunion. Just a casual hi. One SF guy who was there was one of the helicopter pilots. WO Roger Waggie from Churchville, VA was SF before he was “warranted.” Waggie was shot up that day. I think the Army finally recognized Roger’s role in the rescue. They offered him an award...finally a much deserved Silver Star. He died in the late ‘90s.
