Sadly, for most people, the lack of knowing exactly what is going up in space makes events like this "boring". I remember one summer when I was young going to Florida on vacation and we watched the shuttle launch. It was pretty awesome to see in person.

I've seen the shuttles launch in Florida also, even from a distance it is still an awesome sight, its amazing what people take for granted in what goes into these events.
