What’s bad is when a SM is deployable to a combat zone but they still find them unfit to commission. I personally think if a service member is fit to serve and deploy they should be able to commission.

Agreed, it should be "one size fits all" for commissioning. This is one of those policies that had they spoken it out loud, they would have realize that it just doesn't make any sense

It's really sad she was killed but... There is someone walking around alive today who, had they been sent instead of her, would be dead now. So keep in mind, had she been accepted for a commission someone elses family would be going through the same thing. A little strange to change policy because they would rather someine else die?...

She was ruled fit for deployment but due to the additional stresses of responsibility they turned her down to be an officer.
Then killed by a suicide bomber over which the military had no control, which is also one of the hazards of being deployed.

Sir, respectfully, if you truly believe that being an officer entails responsibility more 'stressful' than that of senior enlisted service members, either you weren't paying attention to the responsibilities of the senior enlisted service members with whom you served or you somehow had an unusually sorry bunch of senior NCOs.
