Sailors deploying to Antarctica to transport supplies

YORKTOWN, Va. — Sailors from Hampton Roads are deploying to Antarctica to bring supplies to civilian scientists who live in the continent.

Sailors assigned to Navy Cargo Handling Battalion One will transport about 20 million pounds of supplies as part of Operation Deep Freeze, The Virginian-Pilot reported.
