Sounds like the Marines had a complicated system before and the Commandant just made things easier for all. We just have one uniform in the AF that we wear all year long. When deployed, we tend to wear whatever the Army is wearing as the ABU is not conducive to combat environments.

Lt Col (Join to see) - I actually like the ABU's. But I am more partial to the tiger stripe design then anything else. I just think tiger stripes look cool.

SMSgt Thor Merich - It was not pleasant to wear for 188 days in Djibouti where it was 135F every day w/ 100% humidity. The ABUs are too heavy and don't really camouflage/blend w/ anything. I don't mind because they look pretty but I like the Navy jungle print better than the newer Army camouflage

Nothing new here. Different cammie pattern - same policy we had from 1960's til we went to the woodland/desert 2 cammie standard. Places like PISC will still probably wear Charlie's year round like we used to, etc, etc.
