My advice/instruction to my kids if there was an active shooter was to exit the school as quickly as possible and put distance between you and the shooter. Under no circumstance should you hide in a room with no ability to move away. Hiding in a room with no chance for egress could cost you your life.

An active shooter with a room full of kids that cannot get away will be a disaster of epic proportion.

That would work if they are close enough to an exit to get out and if they can do so without drawing attention to themselves or the direction from which they are leaving; a couple of kids running down a hall would not be missed.

A shooter wouldn't miss 20 or 30 huddled in a corner with no way out either. I prefer action over inaction. Most shooters are not highly trained. They are crazies with a gun. 20 or so seconds at a dead run could out you 100 yards away from danger.

not sure it will work ... when some one wants to inflict damage, they will find a way... especially when you tell them what you are planning...
