Please... potential employers can demand just about anything they want as a condition of employment. I’ve had to submit to drug tests, both urine *AND* hair samples, the latter which could easily provide DNA.

Run along little boy... welcome to the 21st century.

Considering the government already has all my sensitive data and the government has already proven itself to be unreliable, I am not too worried. The information is already out there. If someone gets it, so be it.

Running in-depth DNA checks is expensive. The DNA results from Ancestry.com are pretty lame and useless. The tests are not precise and only provide general information. In my case, I was born in Germany, my relatives trace their roots back to Germany for hundreds of years. But my DNA shows that I am mostly British?

Nefarious folks would have to retest my DNA and run specific and expensive tests to get any info of real value. I don’t see it happening.

Schumer needs to worry about real issues.

I'm torn between this quote:
“There is no point to learning about your family tree if your privacy gets chopped down in the process,”

I do believe its a worry, but there's little we can do to prove this right or wrong without reading deep into fine print - or waiting for hack.

As i mentioned earlier, private companies are allowed, by law, to require drug & other testing as a condition if employment. I’ve had to surrender HAIR SAMPLES, allegedly for drug testing. Such samples could easily be used for DNA analysis. Chuckles Schemer doesn’t seem concerned about THAT!
