Security footage from school massacre scene was on 26-minute delay

The headline is misleading. The tape was rewound after the LEOs were on-scene and replayed ... the LEOs watching it just didn't realize it. It isn't as if the security system had been running with a 26 minute delay during the shooting and when officers first arrived on the scene. It is a left hand/right hand problem ... the person that did the rewind/replay didn't adequately communicate it to the officers that watched it.

Something is off here. Schools submit a Safety Audit every 2 years to the State Safety Center along with a Risk Assessment. This would have been caught by them or in the conduct of routine drills. Or there may be a compliance issue not published at this time.

The level of screw ups by so many is hard to understand. What value do cameras have for anyone in a security role that are on a 26 minute delay? Then no one tells the police that little tidbit. These parents have a class action lawsuit against the FBI, the Broward County Sheriff's Department and the County Schools. Those three entities are largely to blame for the deaths at that school. No one likes to admit it but that is the truth.
